A compass offers orientation rather than a complete map. In an environment crowded with data and interpretation, the useful response may be a set of habits for locating a claim: separate observation from inference, follow the source, state the degree of confidence, and identify what evidence would change the judgment.
The project could ask how institutions build correction into knowledge practices without relying on abstract trust: a visible record of changes, a route for challenge, and review proportionate to a decision’s effects. This is an open editorial frame, not the synopsis of a completed book or evidence of a finished text or publishing path.
